Harbor Vista: Page 1 & 2

The pattern Harbor Vista is by Kustom Krafts and I originally started this as a SAL way back in March 2011.  Oh my...has it really been that long?  Yikes!  Then a friend wanted to restart it as SAL in March of 2012.  Well as you can tell I'm a bit late...but better late than never.  ;O)  Here is what I have finished so far pages 1 & 2.  I hope it doesn't take another year to finish page 3.  LOL

Box Finishing Class

Meari from ILCS (I Love Cross Stitch) is teaching an on-line class on how to finish your cross stitch into a box.  The first assignment is to stitch up your piece and purchase a box with coordinating fabric.  Here is what I have so far:

Oops I almost forgot to mention this pattern is from Just Cross Stitch Magazine Christmas Ornaments Edition (2010) p. 11 and was designed by Lori Markovic from La-D-Da. 

Victorian Angel

This is the first of four total Victorian Angels.  The pattern is from Silhouettes in Cross Stitch (1998) by Julie Hasler (p. 31) and was stitched using DMC 325.  My friend Rachel (who is the co-owner of WOCS - World of Charity Stitching) donated this book to me last year.  I'm so happy to finally have been able to use it.  Thanks again Rachel! 

Finally.....A Finish

    Sadly I have had some unforeseen circumstances going on in my personal life and as a result I lost my stitching mojo for about 2 months. 

I know....can you believe it?   

But....My Mojo is back!!! 

And I've finally finished my Star Gazer Lily by Solaria Gallery.

I have added two pictures because of the difference in lighting.

This is one of my favorite pieces!

Star Gazer Lily Update

I have been working on the Star Gazer Lily for a month now

and wanted to share my progress.

I am really enjoying working on this piece

and can't wait to see it finished.

For those of you who know me know the fact that

I LOVE pink, hearts, and lilies.

So this is the PERFECT project! 

Flowers for WOCS

World of Charity Stitching comes up with themes for members to stitch for quilts.  This allows for creativity as well as continuity of the quilt.  One of the current themes is flowers and I signed up to stitch Ellen Maurer-Stroh's Aster Flower which she graciously provides free on her website (which can be found here).

Stitchy Support

A dear online stitchy friend was diagnosed with breast cancer

 right before the holidays and today will be undergoing surgery. 

To show her support a bunch of us are stitching hearts to be made

into a portfolio by another friend, Fran (who's idea this was).

World of Charity Stitching (WOCS) Finished Quilts

Last year I stitched up several Disney Characters and Silly Monsters
for the charity group WOCS (World of Charity Stitching). 
My friend Dona who is also a member of WOCS turned my

 stitched pieces into two FABULOUS quilts. 
I thought it would be fun for all of you to see the finished products.
 I hope these quilts made some child very happy!

Solaria Gallery - Star Gazer Lily Heart

It's a new year and what better way to start it than with a new project?  On New Years Day I started the Star Gazer Lily Heart Pattern by Solaria Gallery.  Here is my progress so far:

Silly Monsters

These Silly Monsters are SOOO cute and super fun to stitch! 

 I hope some child will enjoy them as much as I have.

These monsters will be donated to WOCS (World of Charity Stitching). 

 The patterns are from The Cross Stitcher Magazine. 

Butterfly

Ulia Catalina De Rango has designed an original pattern

just for WOCS (World of Charity Stitching) to use...this adorable butterfly! 

Members of WOCS were able to choose any 3 colors they wanted. 

 The DMC colors for my butterfly were: 209-582-583. 

 These butterfly squares will be made into quilts...I can't wait to see the finished product! 

The Gang's All Here

For the past month or so I have been working on these cute Disney Characters. 

 Here is a photo of all of them together.

I have decided to send these to my charity group World of Charity Stitching (WOCS).

My friend Dona from WA, USA has agreed to make them into notebooks which will then be donated to children in an abuse shelter for Christmas.  Dona is an avid member of WOCS and the creator of WOCS facebook page (which can be found by clicking here) and the WOCS blog (which can be found by clicking here).  Come on over and see what we are all about...we would LOVE to have you!

The sixth & final member is finally finished...Donald Duck!

He was stitched on 14 ct. White Aida with DMC floss 2 over 1.

Pluto is done!  Now I only have Goofy, Daisy & Donald left.  Again this pattern is from Leisure Arts Disney & Friends (c) 1999 p. 25.  I used 14 ct. White Aida 2 over 1.

Minnie Mouse

Yay....2 of 6 finished.  (I still have Daisy, Donald, Pluto and Goofy left)  This pattern is from the same book Leisure Arts Mickey & Friends (c) 1999 p. 27.  It is stitched on 14 ct. White Aida 2 over 1. 

Mickey Mouse

I just finished this CUTE design from Mickey & Friends by Leisure Arts (c) 1999 p. 27.  This was done on 14 ct. White Aida 2 over 1. 

This will fit perfectly in a 4x4 frame.  Although I'm having a hard time trying to find this size frame.  If anyone has any ideas where to go....let me know.  Thanks!
